I’m John, a copy and content writer who has written and edited copy for media promotion campaigns for the entertainment industry, which have appeared in national newspapers like The Sun and The Irish Daily Mail. I’ve also sub-edited and contributed to two issues of a quarterly specialist travel magazine. Other skills include basic knowledge of SEO, using content management systems and managing company social media.

I worked on the publication of two issues of the specialist travel magazine Amazing Destinations. Across both issues, I authored and received writing credits for three long-form features and compiled four others. I also worked with the photo desk to choose suitable imagery for each piece and sub-edited both issues in full before going to press.

Contributed to media promotion campaigns for the entertainment industry, gaining skills in copywriting, originating content, sub-editing and proofing partners.
Promotional layouts I authored copy for appeared in national newspapers, including The Sun and The Irish Daily Mail and various consumer magazines. These campaigns achieved multiple days coverage and delivered media values to clients worth in excess of £100,000.
I helped to overhaul the online and social branding for all of Creative Path Group’s sub-divisions.
Most notably, I worked in a project team of two to launch a new online website builder: ClickGo. This included devising and writing all the copy for marketing materials and product web pages.
I also authored the copy for an HTML email campaign using the email broadcast system Vertical Response, which reached over 100,000 subscribers.
Furthermore, I updated the Amazing Destinations media kit from 2019 by editing/rewriting the copy for a new 2021 version.

I’m experienced in managing and contributing copy to the social channels of small businesses, primarily for the social platforms Twitter and Instagram.
Woodland Coffee Shop • March 2021—present: Regularly contribute social media copy for Instagram captions promoting products and deals, increasing followers by 33% in 8 months and averaging an estimated engagement rate of 9.2%.
ClickGo • June—November 2021: Created and produced content for ClickGo’s social channels, achieving an average engagement rate of 26% on the ClickGo Instagram page.
University of Essex Library • October 2018—August 2019: Increased Twitter average monthly engagement rate from 0.5% to 1% and boosted followers by 15%.
